Suzie Costello's parents were from the Welsh Rhondda Valleys; her mother died of cancer when she was twelve, her father is soon following her from the same disease.

She was the original Torchwood 3 member, the first to be recruited by Captain Jack Harkness. Her talent, smarts and ability to make hard decisions meant she quickly became Torchwood 3's first second-in-command.

Suzie is a technical genius with all kinds of machinery and gadgets, including those of the alien variety. Thanks to one of said gadgets, she's now more than a little bit insane. She's also very dead.
